How to Play Cashback Blackjack

One of the main reasons why Cashback Blackjack is so popular among players is that it is incredibly easy to learn. For the most part, it follows the standards rules, but there are a few differences you need to be aware of.

The aim of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible without going bust (exceeding 21). The person with the stronger hand wins the round. All numbered cards keep their face value whilst picture cards (Jack, Queen, King) are all worth 10. The rule on Aces is that they can either act as 1 or 11. Thus, to form Blackjack (the strongest possible hand), players must combine an Ace with a 10-value card.

The round starts once all bets have been placed and you click on the ‘Deal’ button. At this point, the dealer deals two face-up cards to the positions and receives a face-up and face-down card themselves. If the dealer is showing an Ace, it is possible to place an Insurance bet that costs half of your initial stake and pays 2:1. It pays out if the dealer has Blackjack.

Once the check is over, the player will have the chance to do one of the following:

• Hit – the player receives another card. There is no limit on how many cards the player can receive.
• Stand – the player chooses to keep their hand as it is and not add anymore cards.
• Double – the player receives a single additional card, doubling their bet in the process.
• Split – the player has received two matching cards and chooses to split them. The two cards split into two separate hands that are played independently. When splitting, the player doubles their bet.

In Cashback Blackjack, the Ten Card Charlie rule applies. If you can form a hand with ten cards without going bust, you automatically win, unless the dealer has Blackjack. The dealer will always hit on 16 or lower and stand on 17 or higher. All standard wins pay 1:1 except Blackjack, which pays 3:2.

The Cashback Feature

The thing that makes Cashback Blackjack so exciting is the Cashback feature. It gives the player the chance to opt out of playing their hand. After the two initial cards are served, the player will have the option to abandon their hand and claim back some cash. The cashback depends on the strength of the hand and does not take into consideration the dealer’s face-up card. This can be beneficial to players that do not want to lose all of their money on a hand they are not confident in playing.

Cashback Blackjack Side Bets

Cashback Blackjack is also home to a variety of different side bets, the Player Pair, the Dealer Pair and the 21+3. Below, we look at the side bets in greater detail.

Player Pair

The Player Pair side bet is formed from the two initial face-up cards in one of the player’s hands. If the two cards match, the player will receive one of the following payouts:

• A Mixed Pair – two matching cards with different colours pays 6:1
• A Coloured Pair – two matching cards that have the same colour but different suit pays 12:1
• A Perfect Pair – two identical cards (same colour and suit) that pays 25:1

Dealer Pair

The Dealer Pair is the exact same side bet as the Player Pair although it is a bet that is placed on the dealer’s initial two cards. The Dealer Pair will only pay out at the end of the round, once the dealer’s face-down card is revealed. It has the same payouts as the Player Pair.

21+3

The 21+3 side bet is on the player’s first two cards combining with the dealer’s face up card to form one of the following poker hands:

• A Flush (all cards of the same suit) pays 5:1
• A Straight (three consecutive numbers) pays 10:1
• A Three of a Kind (three of the same valued card) pays 30:1
• A Straight Flush (three consecutive numbers of the same suit) pays 40:1
• A Suited Three of a Kind (three identical cards) pays 100:1
