The Rivalry Between Brazil and USA in MMA

The world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is marked by intense competition, fierce rivalries, and high-stakes showdowns. One rivalry that has captured the imagination of fight fans worldwide is the ongoing clash between Brazil and the USA. This post dives into the history of this rivalry, exploring the fighters, fights, and cultural factors that have fueled it. We also consider how it impacts the bets you place here at Galera Bet.

Common ONE Championship Bets

Moneyline

A Moneyline bet is the standard form of bet most people are accustomed to. With a Moneyline, you simply choose which participant is going to win. If you bet for Christian Lee against reigning king Ok Rae Yoon on their long waited rematch that's a Moneyline bet; there are no conditions beyond who wins at the end of the day.

Total Rounds

A Total Rounds bet is as the name implies a bet where you wager on the duration of the fight rather than the results themselves. World championship matches at ONE have five rounds of five minutes each. Usually there are two forms of Total Rounds bet. You can bet on a specific number (e.g. 3) and this will have quite long odds, as it is hard to predict. Alternatively, you can bet on there being over or under a given number of rounds. For example, over/under 2.5. You bet over if you think there will be three or more rounds and under if you think there will be 2 or less.

Win by Submission

A win by submission bet is a type of bet where the method by which a fight is won is important. If you bet for Thanh Le to win by submission over Tang Kai this means you are expecting Kai to "tap out" in the match; a real possibility given Le's past history with submission wins.

Win by Decision

A win by decision is just like a win by submission except that you are betting on the five rounds concluding and the judges choosing a winner based on the overall performances. The last lightweight world championship match ended by decision so we'll likely see many of the top matches end on a similar note.

Fight to End in a Draw

Another type of bet that focuses on how the match is won, or in this case how it ends in a draw. A draw in ONE is achieved by the judges' decision after all rounds are fought so it's more likely to happen in evenly matched events such as a fight between Paul Elliot and Martin Batur.

Fight to Go the Distance

With this bet you are wagering on all the rounds in a fight to take place. Matches in ONE Championship have a limited amount of rounds and they can't be more than 5 minutes each, so it's very common for fights to go the distance in the league; the last lightweight world championship finals match went the distance for example.

To Win in Round

This is a bet on which round the fight will end in regardless of which method it is won by. For example, you could bet on Anatoly Malykhin to beat Arjan Bhullar in round four of their next fight.

Prop Bets

Betting on the ONE championship isn't limited to simple results, and that's where prop bets come in. Examples of prop bets include:

  • Will Tawanchai draw first blood over Petchmorakot?
  • What entrance song will Amir Khan bring?

Live Bets

Live betting refers to any bet that happens after the match has started. As the fight unfold, the odds are constantly changing and that means that the betting atmosphere is far more dynamic and unpredictable. However, by keeping a close eye on the action and the odds, you may spot some fantastic betting opportunities.
