Betting on Baltimore Ravens 2022-23 NFL Games

Established in 1996, the Baltimore Ravens are the youngest team in the AFC Northern division. Already a Super Bowl winner on two occasions, they have also made the playoffs 13 times.

How did the Baltimore Ravens Perform in the 2021 Season?

The Baltimore Ravens failed to reach the playoffs last season after reaching them for three consecutive seasons between 2018 and 2020. Last season, they achieved the same record as the Cleveland Browns with an 8 (win) 9 (loss) 0 (tied) record, which was not enough to earn a playoff place.

Baltimore Ravens Changes for 2022

Injuries did not help the Baltimore Ravens in the 2021 season and they may have players return such as cornerback Marcus Peters, running backs Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins, not to mention quarterback Lamar Jackson, whom they lost for the last few games.

The Ravens have been busy in free agency adding free safety Marcus Williams, offensive tackle Morgan Moses and defensive tackle Michael Pierce. Drafts have included safety Kyle Hamilton, centre Tyler Linderbaum and linebacker David Ojabo.

Offensive Tackle Alejandro Villanueva retired, cornerback Anthony Averett joined Las Vegas Raiders, safety DeShon Elliott joined Detroit Lions and wide receiver Sammy Watkins went to the Green Bay Packers.

Offensive assistant quarterback coach Kerry Dixon joined the staff roster.

Baltimore Ravens Key Players

A lot may depend on the form of Rashod Batemen as a wide receiver in 2022 and if he can be supplied. When on top of his game, Lamar Jackson is one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. New signing and free safety Marcus Williams will be expected to make crucial interceptions with wide receivers Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and tight end Mark Andrews contributing with touchdowns.

Betting on the Baltimore Ravens

Having looked at the roster for 2022, we are going to take a look at some of the different ways you can bet on the Baltimore Ravens.

Moneyline

All you need to do with a moneyline bet is predict which team is going to win. Last season the Ravens played the Los Angeles Chargers during October in week 6. For this game, the Ravens had a line of 1.69 while the Chargers were provided odds of 2.20. The Ravens were favourites to win the game with the lower odds and ultimately won the game comfortably 34 – 6. The following week the Ravens played the Cincinnati Bengals and lost the game 17 – 41. On this occasion, the available odds for the Ravens were 1.33 with the Bengals at 2.25. This time the underdogs won the game.

Spread (Handicap Betting)

This is where a bet is won or lost depending on the margin of the result of a game and it is one of the most popular NFL bets. For example, the Ravens game against the Minnesota Vikings in November 2021, the points spread was -6.5 for the Ravens and +6.5 for the Vikings. The Ravens were pre-match favourites and if the bet were placed on the Ravens, they would need to win the game by 7 points or more to win the bet. To collect a return for a bet placed on the Vikings, they would need to lose the game by no fewer than 6 points or win the game. The final score was a 34 – 31 win to the Ravens. The bet will have been won if it had been placed on the Vikings.

Total Points

This is another popular bet and it relates to the total number of points scored in a game. In November 2021, the Ravens played the Chicago Bears in a game that ended 16 – 13 in favour of the Ravens. The betting line was 44.5 with odds of 1.93 for over and 1.89 for under. With a total score of 29 in the Ravens versus Bears game, a bet on under will have won.

Prop Wagers

There is a huge number of prop bets that can be played before or during a Baltimore Ravens game. These bets can be made on the team or on individual players. Examples of popular prop bets include:

  • Will the team excluding the kicker or defence score any points during the game
  • Predict if the Ravens will be the first or last to score in a game
  • Decide if quarterback Lamar Jackson will be over/under in total number of completions
  • Predict if the total number of points will be odd or even
  • Over/under the total number of successful field goals.
