AFC Conference - Kansas City Chiefs vs Cincinnati Bengals

The Chiefs and the Bengals will play against each other at Arrowhead Stadium on January 9. The Chiefs will be playing on their home turf, where the team has only been beaten once all season. The Bengals was the last of the two teams to win the AFC Championship. The Bengals won its third AFC Championship title in 2021. The Chiefs last won the AFC Championships the year before, in 2020, which was its third title. Neither team went on to win the Super Bowl, though the Chiefs did win the Championship game and the Super Bowl in 2019.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC West Division and placed first in the AFC Conference after winning 14 out of its 17 games in the regular season. The Chiefs' highlights during the regular season include a 30-27 win away against the Los Angeles Chargers, a 44-23 win away at the San Francisco 49ers, and a 26-10 win over the 2022 Super Bowl winners, the Los Angeles Rams.

The Chiefs received a bye for the first round of the playoffs, and in the second round, they played against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Arrowhead Stadium. The home advantage definitely helped the Chiefs, who beat the Jaguars 27-20. The first quarter ended 7-7, and in the second quarter, the Chiefs pushed the Jaguars back to win 10-3. The third quarter was far more tactical and ended 3-0 for the Chiefs. In the final quarter, the Jaguars managed to win 10 points, but the Chiefs won 7 points, sealing the game.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals won the AFC North Division with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses. It took the team some time to find their winning form, after losing the first 2 games in the season. They then lost the 5th game and the 8th game before turning their form around. Placing third in the AFC Conference, the Bengals had to play in the first round of the playoffs.

They played against the Baltimore Ravens in their home stadium, Paycor Stadium. The Bengals beat the Ravens 24-17 in a highly thrilling game. The teams were level on points at the beginning of the fourth quarter. In the last quarter, the Bengals scored 7 points and did not concede a single point, winning the game. In the next game, the Bengals played away against the Buffalo Bills. The Bengals took an early lead and held on to win the game 27-10.

NFC Conference - Philadelphia Eagles vs San Francisco 49ers

The Eagles and the 49ers will play the NFC Championship Game on 29 January at Lincoln Financial Field, the home stadium of the Eagles. It will be a huge event for the Eagles, as it can win its 4 Conference Championship. The last time the Eagles won the Championship was in 2017, and in that year the team went on to win the Super Bowl. The 49ers definitely have the better track record, winning 7 NFC Conference Championships and 5 Super Bowls. The franchise won its last Conference Championship in 2019, though the last time it won a Super Bowl was in 1994.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles had a brilliant run in the regular season. The team won 14 of its 17 games, only losing 3 games. The campaign was marked by many brilliant performances in which the Eagles completely dominated the game. The most notable performances were their 48-22 win over the New York Giants, 26-17 win against the Dallas Cowboys, and 40-33 win against the Green Bay Packers.

The Eagles not only won the NFC East Division, but they also won the NFC Conference. Placing first in the Conference, the Eagles received a bye for the first round of the playoffs. In the second round, the team faced their fiercest rivals, the New York Giants. It was a heated game, marked by the brilliant effort from the Eagles and the lacklustre performance of the New York Giants. After scoring 28 points in the first two quarters, the Eagles had a comfortable lead. The New York Giants did push back, but the Eagles won the game 38-7.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers come into the NFC Championship game on the back of a 12-game winning streak. The team lost the first round in the regular season and struggled with consistency up until the 7th round. From the 8th round onwards, they found their form and did not lose a single game. The 49ers won the NFC West Division and placed second in the Conference.

In the first round of the playoffs, the 49ers played against the Seattle Seahawks at their home ground, Levi's Stadium. It was a back-and-forth game in which both teams led, but ultimately the 49ers won 41-23. The 49ers played at home again in the next playoff round. They played against the Dallas Cowboys, in an equally dramatic game. The 49ers took the lead 3-0 after the first quarter, and then the second quarter ended 6-6. In the third quarter, the Cowboys scored 3 points and the scores were level at 9-9. In the final quarter, the 49ers scored 10 points to the Cowboy's 3 and the game ended 19-12.
